- Memory and I/O bound applications running FusionSphere limit the number of virtual machines that can be instantiated.
- Being able to support more VM instances on the same hardware drives better utilization of hardware resources, transparent to the user.
The MySQL with SysBench benchmark running on HUAWEI FusionSphere is I/O and memory bound. Higher memory capacity offered by Intel® Optane™ DC persistent memory delivers improved performance by being able to support more VM instances (see chart for performance improvement).1 2 3 4
Better performance at similar cost - Huawei will benefit from improved performance, i.e., being able to have more VM instances per server, at comparable cost, and while meeting SLA targets for both latency and throughput (transactions per second). This also translates to better, more efficient hardware utilization.
