This article lists the system requirements for Intel® oneAPI HPC Toolkit. Intel® oneAPI HPC Toolkit requires Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit, please see the Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit System Requirements for additional information.

Hardware Requirements

  • CPU Processor:
    • Intel® Core Processor Family
    • Intel® Xeon® Processor family
    • Intel® Xeon® Scalable Performance processors
  • Accelerators:
    • Intel® integrated GEN9 or greater, including:
      • HD Graphics 5xx
      • Iris [Pro] Graphics 5xx
      • HD Graphics 6xx
      • UHD Graphics 6xx
      • Xeon versions with P5xx / P6xx
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM recommended

Software Requirements

Intel® oneAPI HPC Toolkit requires Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit.

Linux* OS

Supported Target Operating Systems:

  • Ubuntu* 18.04.3 LTS, Ubuntu* 20.04 (except for Intel® Cluster Checker)
  • Red Hat* Enterprise Linux* 7.x, 8.x
  • Amazon* Linux 2
  • SUSE* Linux* Enterprise Server 12.x, 15.x
  • CentOS* 7.x, 8.x
  • Debian* 9.x, 10.x

Note, only a limited subset of operating systems are supported for offload to supported accelerators:

  • Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.x
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP1

Developer Tool Requirements:

Windows* OS

Supported Target Operating Systems:

  • Windows 10 x64
  • Windows Server* 2016
  • Windows Server 2019

Note, only a limited subset of operating systems are supported for offload to supported accelerators:

  • Windows 10 x64

Developer Tool Requirements:

Supported Target Operating Systems:

  • macOS 10.15, 11

Starting with the oneAPI 2021.4 release, SLES 12 and SLES 15 SP1 will no longer be supported.


Support of SLES 15 SP3 begins 2021.4 and we will continue to support SLES 15 SP2

2021.3 is the final release to support SLES 15 SP1 and SLES 12
Fedora 32
Fedora 33

Starting with the oneAPI 2022.1 release, Fedora 32 and Fedora 33 will no longer be supported. 

Support of Fedora 34 begins 2022.1

2021.4 is the final release to support Fedora 32 and Fedora 33
CentOS 8.x

Starting with the oneAPI 2022.1 software release, CentOS 8.x will no longer be supported.

Please note that CentOS 7.x will continue to be supported.

The VS Code extensions for oneAPI Toolkits provide assistance to developers who are creating, debugging and profiling oneAPI applications. The Using Visual Studio Code with Intel® oneAPI Toolkits User Guide provides additional detail.

The Diagnostics Utility for Intel® oneAPI Toolkits is designed to diagnose the system status for using Intel® products. With this utility, you can identify errors such as:
