Intel® Xeon®, Intel® Core™, and Intel® Pentium® Processors with Intel® Communications Chipset 89xx Series

Formerly Crystal Forest/Gladden Refresh (Ivy Bridge Gladden + Cave Creek)

Based on Intel® microarchitecture (formerly Ivy Bridge) and manufactured on 22-nm process technology, these processors are designed for single-socket systems with options of two and four cores, with a thermal design power (TDP) range of 15W to 40W.  When paired with the Intel® Communications Chipset 89xx Series, this platform extends the scalability of Intel® architecture into smaller footprint communications and intelligent systems without sacrificing standard industry features such as workload acceleration, multicore processing, and virtualization

  • This platform addresses the needs of thermally constrained solutions, such as branch office routers, midrange security appliances, network access, media servers, communications servers, small cells, control plane processing, and storage.
  • By scaling the powerful Intel architecture instruction set into lower-power network nodes, the platform enables software reuse, power management, and software-based load balancing.
  • Using the Intel® Data Plane Development Kit (Intel® DPDK), platform packet processing speeds can be improved to handle increasing network traffic data rates and associated control and signaling requirements.
